P2R: Philippians 3:15-21 (Week 13)

2011 Philippians Memory Moleskine

Week 13 :: Philippians 3:15-21

15 Let those of us who are mature think this way,
and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.
16 Only let us hold true to what we have attained.
17 Brothers, join in imitating me,
and keep your eyes on those who walk
according to the example you have in us.
18 For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears,
walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.
19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly,
and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.
20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior,
the Lord Jesus Christ,
21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body,
by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

  1. Chris Says:

    I was reminded yesterday that being able to recite Philippians (or any passage of Scripture) from beginning to end is not the main point of our study. I did pretty well with chapter 1; it has been harder to make chapters 2 and 3 stick. I may never recite the book from beginning to end perfectly, but that is not the point. Last night a friend shared a prayer request with me about her daughter who is gravely ill. Immediately I thought of Philippians 3:27 (although I didn’t recall the reference) and began calling our prayer partners to pray that the Lord would have mercy on Anna (who was ill near to death) and her family, that they would not have sorrow upon sorrow. So I’m going to stick with the study of Philippians (and reviewing other books I’ve been memorizing over the years) because it’s so good to have a word to stand on and share in times of need. Thank you for the P2R encouragement, and if those who read this would pray for Anna, I would be grateful!
